After several years of lacking a presence on campus, the Polish Students' Society at the University of Ottawa (PSSUO) fired up in 2004, thanks to the hard work of founders Danuta Swiecicka, Jacek Rothbard, Lukasz Ciesielski, and Anna Subocz. The PSSUO has been the face of all things Polish on campus ever since that year, and today the club is not only prominent on campus, but throughout the entire city.
My name is Magdaline and I am currently in my 2nd year of Health Sciences at the University of Ottawa. I became involved with the PSSUO because ever since I was little, I was involved in the Polish community in Ottawa, whether it was Polish school, dancing, or festivals. Now that I'm older, I realize how much my culture means to me and I want to preserve it and share my passion for it with others. My name is Anna Paluch, and I am in my second year of university in the Art History program. I've always been involved in the Ottawa Polonia, whether through cultural, artistic, educational or religious events, and I can't wait to get started as your new exec member this year! I'm Arthur and I'm in my 4th year of Biotechnology at the University of Ottawa. This is the 4th year that I'm involved with the PSSUO, and I've loved it ever since. I joined the PSSUO in my first year of university in hopes of getting to know other Polish people and sharing my heritage with others. This club has provided a means of interaction amongst members of the Polish community in Ottawa for many years, and hopefully it will continue to do so in the years to come.
